About Empty Sack
The book follows the fortunes of Jennie Follett, a New York artistβs model, and Teddy, her brother. After their fatherβs dismissal from his lowly position in the bank and his subsequent death, the family struggles financially. In desperation, Teddy steals money from the bank where he also works, with disastrous consequences. Jennie meanwhile agrees to marry Bob Collingham, a member of a seriously rich banking family, who has fallen in love with her.
