Of 3,132,790 residents of Puerto Rico aged 5 and over, 2,990,946 (95.5%) speak a language other than English at home, and 2,347,866 (74.9%) speak English less than "very well".
The most common non-English language is Spanish with 2,986,236 speakers, followed by French (incl. Cajun) (1,199).
Limited-English-proficiency counts are the best public proxy for local demand for interpreters and document translation in healthcare, courts, schools and social services.
