Of 21,289,728 residents of Florida aged 5 and over, 6,520,270 (30.6%) speak a language other than English at home, and 2,663,509 (12.5%) speak English less than "very well".

The most common non-English language is Spanish with 4,801,213 speakers, followed by Haitian (461,611).

Limited-English-proficiency counts are the best public proxy for local demand for interpreters and document translation in healthcare, courts, schools and social services.
