Languages spoken in Utah

Of 3,156,873 residents of Utah aged 5 and over, 503,069 (15.9%) speak a language other than English at home, and 165,176 (5.2%) speak English less than "very well".

The most common non-English language is Spanish with 345,046 speakers, followed by Chinese (incl. Mandarin, Cantonese) (16,788).

Limited-English-proficiency counts are the best public proxy for local demand for interpreters and document translation in healthcare, courts, schools and social services.
