Of 619,410 residents of Vermont aged 5 and over, 34,135 (5.5%) speak a language other than English at home, and 7,263 (1.2%) speak English less than "very well".

The most common non-English language is Spanish with 8,063 speakers, followed by French (incl. Cajun) (7,398).
